OOC GUIDELINES

Age:  AOLGor is not a forum for minors. To participate in roleplay in the City of Lydius, a mun must be at least 18 years old.  All chars must also be 18 years or older, there are no exceptions.  According to AOL representatives, no mun under the age of 18 is to be roleplaying in Gor as this is an adult gaming forum, also no munned chars under the age of 18 either.

AOL STATED  REASONS FOR THIS ACTION:

"It interferes with current investigations of pedophiles and online predators, it is a form of children exposure and child pornography even if it is not sexual in nature its is considered exposing of a child for entertainment or gratification purposes infringes upon children's rights."

Enjoyment: For All  Remember we are here to have fun, not to add stress to daily lives.  Refrain from flaming each other or picking on one another.  Team work is essential to create happy roleplay.  All are adults here and are expected to behave as such.  Slaves are happy, fun, a bit mischievous; however they are very obedient and aware of their place.

Mun consent: Mun Consent must be gained on all major story-lines, especially those that may cause harm to a person's character. HOWEVER , Mun consent may not be invoked under the following conditions:

If a player initiates a story line, attack, capture or collaring, they may not invoke mun consent to protect themselves against counter attacks.
Once a player's actions clearly demonstrates that they have acknowledged a story line, through counter attacks, resistance, die rolls or other overt actions, they may not invoke mun consent during that current story line.

ANY mun consent gained via OOC threat is invalid.

*Registered Assassins and Slavers must always have OOC mun consent before carrying out their actions.
*Only Registered Assassins will be recognized and they must disclose the storyline to both their mark and the Administrator/Ubar as well as the Lydius High Council.

Remember, AOL, Inc. may elect, at its sole discretion, to monitor some, all, or none of AOL's public areas for adherence to the TOS. Any conduct by a Member that in AOL Inc's sole discretion restricts or inhibits any other Member, person or entity from using or enjoying AOL or another service shall entitle AOL, Inc. to immediately terminate membership without notice. (This means muns have the final word).

City Wide Ignore Orders:   When a City wide Ignore order is issued, it is done to protect the roleplay enjoyment and environment of the City and Citizens of Lydius and shall be adhered to by all the Citizens of Lydius. Any muns refusing to comply with this would be subject to expulsion.  The Administrator/Ubar has final ruling on all City Wide Ignores.

Child Characters:   No character under the age of 18 is allowed to roleplay in the City of Lydius.  All NPC children when RP'd are to be roleplayed in a safe, appropriate manner by any who RP their children openly.   Any infraction of this that is represented will result in immediate expulsion from the Lydius roleplay group.  Any child character you NPC play must be extremely well behaved, no bratty behavior will be tolerated nor introducing any SL for their character without the permission and approval of the Administrator/Ubar.  No child character you NPC RP will put themselves in any harm nor will they roam the city alone.  They must always be accompanied by a parent, an adult or guards, these persons may NOT be NPC, no child is ever be alone in any City of Lydius role play rooms, no exceptions will be tolerated.

Other Characters:  The City of Lydius attempts to intermingle the AOL Gor roleplaying guidelines with the Books of John Norman to abide as closely as possible with the Books and to enhance RP within the city at the same time.  However, exotic characters or characters not of John Norman's Gor will not be allowed in the City of Lydius roleplay group.   The Administrator/Ubar of the City of Lydius may deny your char a City Pass at his discretion based on the contents of your profile and or including your web pages as these define your char.  There is nothing personal in that decision, it is based on what he deems is best for the roleplayers and the RP environment of the City of Lydius.

Slaves:  No poison slaves or exotics bred to look like animals are recognized in the City of Lydius, nor any SL's regarding them.

Travel:  Unrealistic travel times such as suddenly "appearing" on the shores or in the Ubar's Home or a City of Lydius room from the Sardars and vice versa are strongly discouraged. Muns should attempt a reasonable travel period for their characters.

Time:  To further storylines, the City of Lydius adheres to the generally accepted rule of AOLGor timelines. One mun week equals one Gorean month in the progression process of storylines and aging of characters.

Restore/Delete:  Restore/Delete characters are not recognized in the City of Lydius. The only exception may be granted by the Administrator in the case of a mun emergency.  If a mun must delete the Administrator and City Scribe should be notified before deletion and an appropriate IC reason for the character's absence established.

Should a Lydius character delete without the above exception granted, at that time they are removed from the Lydius Roster and shall no longer be considered a Citizen of Lydius. All rights to any property within the City of Lydius belonging to any character who deletes is forfeited upon deletion and will be confiscated by the City for public auction or use by the City of Lydius.

Should a character be restored, they must make application to the Lydius High Council to return to Lydius. If the LHC approves the application, the character must renew their pledging vows to the City to become a Citizen of Lydius again. Under no circumstances will any property previously confiscated by the City be returned to a restored character.

Bolt: Your char may be bolted from Lydius RP rooms for a variety of reasons.  If your char does not have a profile, you will be bolted and a webpage does not replace a profile.   If your profile does not contain adequate information to identify your char.  If you list your char as under the age of 18.  If you are asked to comply with the Laws of Lydius and or the OOC Guidelines of Lydius or both whether IC or OOC and you do not comply.  If you are instructed to seek a City Guest Pass and continue to RP or try to RP without a City Pass being issued.  If you are a slave char and do not comply with city laws regarding slaves.  (See Laws of Lydius.)  (Any RP under these conditions is subject to Voiding at the sole discretion of the Administrator/Ubar.)  If your char is one of the forbidden chars within the City of Lydius.  (See Laws of Lydius for these groups.)

Storylines: Concerning ALL roleplay/storylines concerning raids, attacks, threats, including any potential harm to the City of Lydius, it's Citizens or Guest, death matches, etc., must be approved by the Administrator/Ubar.
(Dark Storylines are not welcomed in the City of Lydius, nor will they be tolerated.  Do not attempt to introduce them, if you desire such take it to another City.  If you should attempt to initiate such you will lose your right to retain Citizenship and if you are a Guest you will be escorted from the City and not allowed to return.)  (Dark Storylines are many, if you need them defined to you, ask the Administrator/Ubar OOC what you have in mind and he will clarify such for you, but common sense hopefully will prevail here for all.)  (Any Storyline your char is thinking of introducing and you are not sure if it is a Dark Storyline, ask the Administrator/Ubar in a OOC email before proceeding, as claiming not knowing will not be allowed as an excuse.)  Storylines pertaining to any "Drama" do not initiate them without asking permission first from the Ubar, as they will not be tolerated.  Seldom would any be welcome within the City of Lydius.  We are a fun RP city, if you do not desire this, that is your right, then play elsewhere.   Lydius is one of the four free ports of Gor, we handle the majority of shipping from North to South with many friends and alliances.  It is a powerful free port city which also controlled all shipping on the Laurius River, as all flows through Lydius to be sold.  We are a city of peace.  Lydius does not declare war on anyone, nor do we seek war with anyone, powerful wealthy free ports were not about war.  Any form of war RP or attempted war RP with Lydius, needs prior approval from the Administrator/Ubar which would be more than likely declined.

Crossing:  Cross-charactering and OOC/IC crossing will not be tolerated. Any character using OOC knowledge or knowledge not obtained by that specific character will be subject to expulsion. Similarly, any character discovered using OOC reasons as a basis for their character's actions will be subject to expulsion and/or City wide ignore.  Muns who insist on attempting to solve their IC chars problems by taking it OOC in IM's or email are also subject to expulsion.

Multiple Characters It is strongly discouraged for muns to have more than one character in the City of Lydius. The exception to this being a temporary character created with the express approval of the Administrator/Ubar for a Citywide storyline.

The City attempts to intermingle the AOL Gor roleplaying guidelines with the Books of John Norman to abide as closely as possible with the Books and to enhance RP within the city at the same time.

NPC Characters Though the City of Lydius may have a limited number of played characters at any given time, roleplay is based on the premise that a thriving City exists around us and the NPC'ing of these assorted characters is encouraged for the enjoyment of roleplay.
